British Educational Research Association Conference 2022.

ANGEL is to have a presence at the UK's largest annual educational research event, hosted by the University of Liverpool, with members participating in two special symposia, both of which will likely be of interest to many other ANGEL members.

Session 1

Members of the budding regional ANGEL / TEESNet network will be involved in a symposium on: Global Citizenship Education and Sustainability: overcoming contradictions, tensions, rhetoric, and ‘flaws’.

The session, to be held 09:00 - 10:30 on 7th Sep, is to be led by Dalene Swanson (University of Nottingham). ANGEL Chair Doug Bourn will be presenting jointly with Jenny Hatley (Bath Spa Uni) on the outcomes of the recent report Target 4.7 of the Sustainable Development Goals: Evidence in Schools in England, prepared for the Our Shared World coalition. Katherine Wimpenny (Coventry University) and Sally Findlow (Keele University) will also be presenting, as will Mostafa Gamal (Queen Margaret University) with Dalene Swanson.


Session 2

In addition, several ANGEL members, including the Chair of the Advisory Board, willl present as part of a symposium titled: Global Citizenship as a Pedagogy of Hope, to be held 14:10 - 15:40 on 7th Sept. Presenting are: Paul Sherman (University of Guelph-Humber, Toronto), Namrata Sharma (State University of New York, Oswego) and Aamna PashaDouglas Bourn & Alexis Stones (UCL Institute of Education, London).
