ANGEL partners offer free online course in GE for teachers. 

Researchers and ANGEL members Dr Fran Hunt and Dr Nicole Blum, based at ANGEL partner institution the Development Education Research Centre (UCL Institute of Education) have developed a new online global education CPD resource which is accessible to teachers across the world.

Taking the form of a MOOC course on the popular platform FutureLearn, the 3 week course provides an introductory overview to global education and related areas such as global learning and global citizenship education. The course, specifically designed for educators, aims to build confidence and ability to introduce global issues into teaching.

Outline

  • An introduction to key concepts and ideas related to global education and related terms;

  • Exploration of what global education means for teachers and teaching;

  • Identifying key elements within a global education approach;

  • Exploring approaches to teaching and pedagogy;

  • Providing practical ideas and support for teachers who want to introduce global education into their practice (including lesson planning, guides, resources and further readings);

  • Providing links to ongoing resources and networks to take this further.
