Event at University of Porto to discuss ‘Democracy(ies) and Development Education'.

The journal Sinergias - educational dialogues for social change, in collaboration with ANGEL and GENE - Global Education Network Europe, is hosting a Roundtable focused on ‘Democracy(ies) and Development Education - insights from European contexts’ on 10 October, from 5.30pm to 7pm at the Faculty of Letters of the University of Porto, and via a YouTube livestream.

Event focus

Democracy today faces unprecedented challenges. The growing waves of authoritarianism, extremism and radical conservatism in several European countries threaten the Common Good and are profoundly transforming the way democracy is understood and practised.

What is the role of Development Education in this context?

This will be an opportunity to analyse, discuss and problematise this scenario from the point of view of different European countries.
