"Getting to the Heart of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): The Role of Teacher Education in Prompting Critical Engagement and Action"

Tuesday 11th September 2018, Liverpool Hope University

This conference, building on the 2017 conference ‘Making the SDGs Real’, will focus on Goal 4 and the role of teacher education in moving beyond awareness to critical engagement and action. It will explore critical perspectives on Goal 4.7 and the aim to for all learners to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to promote sustainable development through Education for Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship Education (ESD/GCED). This will include questions about our responsibility and response to the SDGs and how we address societal challenges such as inequality, climate change and the rise of nationalism.
