We are pleased to showcase three pieces of writing by UCL undergraduate Kushal Sohal, who has had involvement in the UCL Global Citizenship Programme, as well as producing films for the ANGEL project in a voluntary capacity.
"Cultivating Integrity" reflects on an interview with Jane Yates, the winner of the ‘Global Educator of the Year’ prize in 2017 - and considers the place of critical thought and empathy in education.
"What It Means To “Educate”" is the result of a conversation with filmmaker turned educationist Leslee Udwin, and includes discussion of the ‘Think Equal’ project – a curriculum for children aged three to six.
"The Moment of Awakening" follows an interiew with Rajesh Awasthi, principal of Choithram School, and examines how Indian schools can promote critical thought and global learning amid the political lurch to the Hindu far-right.
