Launch of UNESCO Chair in Global Citizenship Education in Higher Education at the University of Bologna.
Join in person or online for this half-day international conference to mark the launch of this new UNESCO Chairship, appointed to Professor Massimiliano Tarozzi, founding director of the International Research Centre on Global Citizenship Education at the University of Bologna and coordinator of the ANGEL network.
The conference, titled "EDUCATING FOR GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP AT THE UNIVERSITY", will be held in Bologna (Sala Cappella Farnese, Palazzo d’Accursio) on June 24th, 9.30 - 13:00 CEST.
This event was co-funded by the European Union.*
The event aims to provide a discussion on the role of the university in promoting global citizenship through its three institutional domains:
- Teaching
- Research
- Public outreach: commitment to the development and social wellbeing of communities
It also intends to promote collaboration between the University and the community, highlighting the synergies and common objectives between the Municipality of Bologna and the Alma Mater on a number of areas of the UNESCO Chair’s commitment, including intercultural integration, human rights (refugees in particular), and new citizenships.
