UNESCO seeks examples of the impact of the 1974 Recommendation for study.

UNESCO, who recently partnered with ANGEL to deliver the 2023 ANGEL Conference at UNESCO HQ in Paris, is seeking examples of the impact of the 1974 Recommendation concerning Education for International Understanding, Co-operation and Peace and Education relating to Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms for a short study.

Specifically, they are searching for significant actions taken by UNESCO Member States over the past five decades to implement the 1974 Recommendation such as major policy reforms or shifts, the elaboration of new policies and programmes, the establishment of institutes, centers, networks and / or exchange programmes, mechanisms, and the development of new partnerships and synergies. UNESCO is also interested in academic or other studies that might contain information about the impact of the 1974 Recommendation.

UNESCO has requested the ANGEL secretariat to reach out to ANGEL members as a key community that can help inform this study. If you have any concrete examples or know of researchers working in this field, please reach out to 1974recommendation@unesco.org

We greatly appreciate your support.
