ANGEL / TEESNet Network for UK researchers
New network for Global Education & Learning researchers in the UK.
Responding to the ANGEL project's call for the establishment of regional networks of researchers working on Global Education & Learning and related topics, a group of around 30 established UK researchers met for the first time in November 2021 to workshop ideas for how a UK network could work.
In the meeting, the group worked collaboratively to discuss how best they could use such a network to share research ideas, raise their profile within the educational research community, and to consider any areas where such a group could have an impact.
The meeting was proposed and led by Andrea Bullivant on behalf of TEESNet, Doug Bourn for ANGEL, and Karen Pashby (Manchester Metropolitan University).
Watch this space for further information on what the group decides to focus on.
Proposed / possible activities:
- Proposing symposia at conferences such as BERA
- Providing formal responses to policy documents such as the new DFE Sustainability and Climate Change draft
- Creation of online collaboration space for internal use
- Collation of a special issue in a related journal
Support for the establishment and running of this group is provided by the secretariat of ANGEL, but the group is mostly autonomous.
Collaboration
This group uses 'Slack', an online platform for collaboration, to coordinate it's activities. This allows members to have direct channels of communication to the whole group.
